STUDIO SCHEDULE

 

The studio follows the Collier County public school schedule, closing for holidays only, not for teacher planning or early release days.  The studio is closed Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, & Spring Break.  Please feel free to make up classes missed on these days. Please see our Events Calendar Page for any other days we might be closed or for special events that are scheduled (picture days, ticket day, split club party, etc.).

Parent Watch Weeks are the last FULL week of the month.  Parents are invited in to class the last ten minutes to see what their children have learned.  Parent Watch Weeks begin in September and are every month through April.

 

GENERAL INFO

 

At the front entryway to the studio there are black filing cabinets.  Every student will have a file, and all studio information will be placed in these folders.  It is each families responsibility to check these folders EVERY WEEK for information.  Also make sure to check the studio information board above the filing cabinets for any additional information.

 

RECITAL INFO

 

Our annual recital is held at Gulf Coast High School and will be in early June.  The recital is held in two shows, a matinee and an evening, with the matinee beginning tentatively at 11 A.M. and the evening beginning tentatively at 5 P.M.  Dress rehearsals will be held the weekend before the recital and are mandatory since it is the only time students have a chance to perform on the stage prior to the show.

Costumes for the recital are ordered at the end of December.  All students participating in the recital are required to purchase a costume.  A $50 costume deposit per class ($75 for BTJ classes) will be due the beginning of December, and costume balances are due when the costumes arrive.  Some intermediate and advanced classes may be asked to purchase more than one costume per dance.

DRESS CODE

 

Combo Classes:  Leotard & tights any color.  Pant & top separates may be worn in BTJ classes.  Pink ballet shoes & tan student taps (with snaps not ribbons).  Tan jazz boots.  All hair MUST be pulled back & off face.

 

Ballet Classes:  Leotard any solid color & pink tights.  Ballet skirts, shorts (no regular shorts), & belts may be worn.  Only ballet sweaters & shrugs are to be worn, no tank tops.  Pink ballet shoes (canvas preferred).  All hair MUST be pulled back into a bun.

 

Company Ballet Classes:  Leotard any solid color & pink tights covering the foot!  Ballet belt in any color, pink ballet shoes (canvas preferred), & hair MUST be pulled back into a bun.

 

Jazz Classes:  Any athletic wear is acceptable (no jean material & no school clothes).  We prefer dance shorts or capris and tank tops or t-shirts for all jazz classes.  Tan jazz boots are suggested as that will most likely be what is needed for the recital, if not they can be easily sprayed black.  Hair MUST be pulled back into a ponytail or bun.

 

Company Stretch & Leaps:  Black shorts or capri pants & solid color top.  Barefoot is required for the stretching and either jazz shoes or foot undies for the leaps.  Hair MUST be pulled back in a neat pony or bun.

 

Company Turns & Conditioning:  Black shorts or capri pants & solid color top.  Barefoot is required for the conditioning and either jazz shoes or foot undies for the turns.  Hair MUST be secured in a bun for turns.

 

Tap Classes:  Any athletic wear is acceptable (no jean material & no school clothes).  We prefer dance shorts or capris and tank tops or t-shirts for all tap classes.  Black oxford tap shoes in any style are required.  All hair MUST be pulled back in a pony.

 

Hip Hop Classes:  Any athletic wear is acceptable (no jean material & no school clothes).  Students may wear hip hop sneakers, low sneakers, or jazz boots.  Black sneakers or jazz boots are required for the recital.  Hair can be worn in any comfortable fashion, however we suggest pulling it back out of the face.

 

Lyrical Classes:  Any athletic wear is acceptable (no jean material & no school clothes).  Lyrical shoes/foot undies and hair pulled back off the face.

 

Advanced Classes:  Open dress code.
